A neighborly gathering...
Our open house on December 11 was attended by a crowd of friends, neighbors, members, and partners, who shared the warmth and good cheer, as well as the good food provided by Whole Foods Markets. Amanda Musilli, Marketing Team Leader for Whole Foods Market, announced their 2009 partnership with Six Rivers Regional Land Conservancy, the highlight of which will be a Community Support Day on June 10. Five percent of the sales at all three Oakland County stores (Rochester Hills, West Bloomfield, and Troy) will be contributed to Six Rivers on that day. Donna Folland presented a plaque to the Charter Township of Oakland expressing the gratitude of Six Rivers Regional Land Conservancy for all their support and for our beautiful new offices in the Paint Creek Cider Mill. If you missed the open house, stop in for a visit after the first of the year!

Six Rivers Regional Land Conservancy
Six Rivers Regional Land Conservancy works with both public and private landowners to protect
land through conservation easements and other methods. We follow up by carefully managing the
land we protect, ensuring that the our conservation work is not only at the best professional
level but that it contributes to the quality of the communities we serve. Our educational programs
and stewardship days help children and adults learn to be better stewards of the land they care about.
All of these efforts are conducted within the framework of a green infrastructure vision
that is developed in collaboration with the communities where we work. Green infrastructure is
defined as a system of interconnected open space that preserves natural systems and water quality
and provides benefit to human populations.
We conserve and care for land in Oakland, Macomb, Lapeer and Genesee Counties and within
the watersheds of the Huron, Flint, Shiawassee, Rouge, Belle and Clinton Rivers. We currently
conserve approximately 1,154 acres, which includes 163 acres in six nature preserves, 771 acres
in sixteen conservation easements and an additional 220 acres through seven stewardship partnerships.
Detailed descriptions of our protected lands and programs are available on this website and in
our Annual Report.
