The Headwaters Cluster, located in the Oakland County area of Michigan, brings together individuals and organizations under the mission of stewarding natural areas. The Headwaters Cluster has evolved into becoming a Cooperative Weed Management Area . The current focus is on swallow-wort, and invasive vine, in northwestern Oakland County.
Headwaters recently received funding from Sustain our Great Lakes to continue to fight Swallow-wort in northwestern Oakland County! Our efforts will include workshops in Highland, Rose, and Springfield Townships to to teach identification, control methods, and present resources to landowners. We are also implementing chemical control on important natural lands and pastures in all three townships this summer.
